LED Expo Thailand 2017: The Gala Event on LED Lighting Comes True To Expectations, Meets Promises Of Booming Businesses

19,743 trade visitors thronged the hall to explore what over 400 exhibitors had floored on for them in the name of innovations in the world of global lighting arena 


5th edition of LED Expo Thailand 2017 concluded with much fan-fair, as expected, and ended on a very positive note. The Show Floor, spread over 25000 sqm, witnessed 19,743 trade visitors walking in to explore the latest in the LED lighting arena brought forward by over 400 national & international exhibitors at Challenger 1, IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center, Bangkok, Thailand during 11–13 May, 2017. Going in line with the pace of the development in LED industry worldwide, the Expo emerged as the one and only platform facilitating complete sourcing of LED products under one roof.

Organised by MEX Exhibitions Pvt. Ltd. & IMPACT Exhibition Management Co., Ltd. and supported by the Federation of Thai Industries, the Show has been an important initiative towards energy conservation and a green environment by the host organisations – Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) and Ministry Of Energy. Devoted to science, technology and LED applications, the Show was aimed at increasing the growth rate of LED lighting market in Southeast Asian region by providing a major hub for LED lighting companies to promote, discuss, transact, partner and gain insights on neighbouring LED markets.

Eventually, all the three days of hodgepodge witnessed innumerable business meetings encompassing closing the deals on the spot, availing unparalleled networking opportunities, interacting with the industry leaders, getting updated on industry trends, renewing contacts, finding new partners, and so on. Be it local or international, existing or new company, ASEAN’s largest international exhibition on LED lighting products and technology provided exhibitors a platform that proved to be valuable in reaching their target audience comprising excellent quality visitors and valuable buyers who met their respective clients on personal level for effective marketing, launching & showcasing products beside promoting brands to the international audience.

No wonder, the show gained the attention of potential and qualified buyers from across the globe representing varied domain encompassing fields of architecture, hotel & hospitality, retail, real estate and many more making the demand and supply go hand in hand, giving rise to the leading business transactions achievable. They found the Show apt for doing business with leading manufacturers & suppliers from around the world, learning from the best in the industry and networking with the peers.


Business Matching Meetings
The event registered an impressive 1,383 business meetings, creating a record number of trade partnerships. Thanks to the Show organisers for facilitating one-of-its-kind business matching platforms that include the much-hyped VIP Hosted Buyer Programme – an effective platform for top quality buyers from the procurement, purchasing and supply chain management divisions within the commercial aviation sector to meet with our exhibitors on a pre-schedule basis.

Besides, there were two more such arrangements the ESCO Matching – A perfect platform to connect Energy Service Companies (ESCOs) with both government & private enterprises and BOI Program – An exclusive business-matching activity to help raise joint investment in Thailand for the energy-efficiency market.


The Summits:
The highlights of the Show were the International LED Summit and localised free seminars that held concurrent to the show wherein two different levels of knowledge platforms – LED Light Talk & International LED Summit were created.

Light Talks
A one-to-one confidential consultation with the world’s most renowned lighting designers & industry professionals provided a warm-up before the serious knowledge sharing stage took off. 12 individual Light Talks were planned to offer an opportunity to meet and get professionals’ & experts’ advice & guidance from experienced international lighting designers who are roistered to be on-hand and would provide guidance to registered participants on a particular subject, such as a current or proposed future project, discuss and answer questions, and/or offer strategic advice on a way forward.

The International LED Summit

Once the Light Talks were over, the International LED Summit focused on technologies, innovations and applications steered by the committee of experts. Aimed at driving knowledge in key areas of lighting design to enhance efficiency, the summit bought forth a relaxed environment emphasising on smart technologies for innovations in lighting besides the latest trends in application areas followed by the expectations for future to a highly qualified audience. Renowned speakers highlighted and demonstrated the trend of LED lighting & energy saving technology, government policies and benefits of using for better consumer understanding.

Themes/Topics
The Summit was highly focused on case studies, practical design issues and views on trends, innovations, and technological advancements in both interior and exterior spaces. Individual speakers and panel discussions successfully tackled the influence and issues that designers, owners and operators face in implementing LED technology as well as the opportunities that LED provides us today which we did not have in the past. Contemporary issues such as smart lighting and the IoT and compliance with new regulations, codes of practice, as well as environmental and wellness issues were highlighted. All these were grouped under four separate themes to be addressed under four sessions:

  • Hospitality
  • Commercial & Retail

Summit Target Audience
A total of 1,239 delegates including 82 delegates from around the world took part in the first edition of International LED Summit. The industry professionals comprising architects, interior designers, urban planners, city officials, property developers, operators and owners, engineers, representatives of design/engineering associations along with the general public got the chance to have a one-on-one consultation with world renowned lighting designers to refer in their future projects.

Thailand LED & Energy Saving Summit

1,239 delegates attended the summit. The keynote speakers provided tremendous knowledge and insight into current trends in energy efficiency & LED Lighting in residential and commercial buildings, as well as updates on Thailand 4.

International LED Summit & Light Talks
82 delegates from all around the world took part in the first edition of international LED Summit. The industry professionals got the chance to have a one-on-one consultation with world renowned lighting designers.

Institute for Printed Circuits (IPC) Hand Soldering Competition
26 Competitors from well-known electronic companies demonstrated their soldering skills during the 3-day exhibition. Anuchid Saengmangmee from Silicon Craft Technology Co, Ltd. won the first prize and received the invitation to compete at the IPC World Championship at Productronica, Munich, Germany November 14-17, 2017.
